Cabrillo National Monument

We went to see the Cabrillo National Monument today, not far away, with good sights on Coronado and San Diego downtown. The park is actually larger than I expected, with some hiking opportunities on the coast. The highlights are the Cabrillo Statue and the light house, both pictured in a detail view below. It happened that a Red-tailed Hawk (any other opinion?) rested on the statue, so that stole the show. The light house picture shows nicely the Fresnel Lenses. It was a good day, actually quite warm with 18C.
