Will we look stupid in 2029?
TechCrunch found a video of a TV news segment discussing electronic newspapers in 1981. It is hilarious in some way, and scary in another. The San Francisco Examiner was doing at the time a test with a few other papers trying to publish electronically. There was an actual customer using dial-up (and yes, there is an acoustic coupler) and the tag line describing that customer reads "Owns Home Computer". Bottom line: what looks too fantastic to be true in 1981 is just funny today. Will the next generation laugh at us in 20 years?
