RIP Iain Banks

Iain Banks passed away a few days ago, at the age of 59. He was an author of many things, and under the thin pseudonym of Iain M. Banks he did a lot of science fiction books.  I would like to call one of them the best scifi book I know of: Consider Phlebas. The plot takes place in Banks' "Culture" universe. I was captured by the dimension of the story and the big effects that small actions could have. I remember that I started reading the rather thick book reluctantly, but got captured quite quickly.
